It’s hard to believe that 2017 is already coming to an end. From new products, initiatives, people, and shows, it was an eventful year for Peerless-AV. Take a look at our wrap-up below for some of our highlights from the year.


New Products

We introduced 6 new products, including both indoor and outdoor AV solutions, including:

  • Indoor Portrait Kiosk
    • Top features of the Portrait Kiosk include: 
      • Flat base (free standing or bolted to the ground) for easy access to electric and data cables
      • Two whisper-quiet thermostat-controlled exhaust fans for maintaining an optimal internal temperature
      • Lift off, bi-level rear doors for direct access to parts requiring maintenance
      • Internal tray for organization of media players and cables
      • Keyed-alike cam lock for theft protection


  • Hospitality Wall Arm Mount with Set Top Box Enclosure
    • Key benefits of the new Hospitality Wall Arm Mount include:
      • Curved and vented interchangeable cover for cable management and a clean appearance
      • Extension up to 22.22″ (564mm) for hotel guests to find the perfect viewing angle
      • Inclusion of fasteners for easy installs on single and dual metal studs, wood, or concrete
      • Universal compatibility to set top boxes (up to 13.5″W x 7.5″L x 1.6″D)
      • Height adjustment up to 0.5″ (13mm) for fine-tuned positioning after installation
      • Compact size to fit within a 24″x 16″ wall opening
      • UL tested up to four times the mount’s stated load capacity


  • UltraView™ UHD Outdoor TVs 
    • Top features of the UltraView™ UHD Outdoor TVs include:
      • Operating temperature range of -22°F to 122°F
      • High TNI panel allows for direct sunlight readability without the risk of isotropic blackout
      • IPS panel allows for accurate color representation when viewing off axis
      • Input compartment provides safe storage and DC power for small video equipment
      • USB media support allows still images, video and audio to be played from an attached USB flash drive
      • IR extender provides flexibility for integration with control systems
      • Supports HDMI 2.0 and HDCP 2.2 for increased compatibility with 4K sources
      • Waterproof universal remote can control up to 3 additional devices
      • Internal speakers provide excellent sound without detracting from the TV’s aesthetics


  • ADA-Compliant SmartMount® Collaboration Carts with Vertical Lift
    • Key benefits of the new carts include:
      • Height adjustment up to 15.75″ (400mm) with the touch of a finger
      • Intuitive and zero maintenance design
      • Lockable rear enclosure for storage of a PC, power supply, and cabling
      • Capacity to add an external Wi-Fi antenna
      • Compliance with ADA Standards for Accessible Design, Section 308
      • Accommodation for displays ranging from 90.2 to 209 lbs.
      • UL rating for safety assurance, passing tip, load and drag testing


  • All-in-One Kiosk Powered by BrightSign® 
    • Top features of the All-in-One Kiosk include:
      • Sleek, ultra slim design offering rugged protection for any indoor application environment
      • Quick and easy set-up via micro SD card
      • Six points of IR touch to fully engage users
      • Robust HTML5 engine supporting flawless playback of content and modular assets layered with video
      • Full HD video and audio streaming
      • Ability to easily update messaging and interact with the kiosk via Ethernet, WiFi or the BrightSign App
      • The use of live data and media feeds to display popular news, finance, weather or social media feeds




  • Upgraded Xtreme™ Outdoor Soundbar
    • Key benefits of the new soundbar include:
      • Built-in Class D amplifier outputs 200W total system power
      • IP65 rated, withstanding the harshest outdoor weather conditions year round
      • Compatibility, providing a digital optical audio input and standard analog input, allowing for use with all leading outdoor TVs
      • Built-in Bluetooth® Module wirelessly streams audio from Bluetooth® enabled devices
      • Decorative end caps aesthetically enhance any mounting scenario
      • IP65 rated aluminum enclosure features rubber gaskets at every seam that completely seal, isolate and protect the soundbar’s electronics from the outside environment
      • High quality drivers provide great sounding full range audio (50Hz – 20kHz)
      • 12 button IR remote control allows for control over the power level, tone, and input selection
      • Digital optical audio input allows for uncompressed digital audio from source

  • CES 
    • Kicking-off the year in Vegas, Peerless-AV showcased numerous products at this year’s event including outdoor AV applications, TV wall mounts, and wireless solutions.


  • ISE
    • Brian McClimans, VP of Sales for Americas and APAC gave two presentations surrounding the future of digital signage and upcoming trends, as well as managing complexities to ensure productive, profitable installation focusing on product safety and quality as screen sizes continue to increase.   • Digital Signage Expo 
    • Presenting digital signage solutions, including the new Curved Indoor Portrait Kiosk, SmartMount® Full-Service Video Wall Mounts, Xtreme™ Outdoor Daylight Readable Display, Wireless AV Solutions, and more, Peerless-AV was awarded the Best New Digital Signage Mount for our Supreme Video Wall Mount in the rAVe’s Best of DSE 2017 Awards!   • InfoComm
    • Peerless-AV celebrated our recognition as the Official Outdoor Display Provider of the Daytona International Speedway with a Daytona 500 themed-booth, complete with a “Pit Stop Challenge” where attendees were given the chance to compete with their best “Pit Crew” impressions and change a tire on a model racing car.
    • Other event highlights for us included, the gathering of #AVTweeps, and winning numerous awards, including InfoComm’s Young AV Professionals award; Tech & Learning’s Best of Show award; Digital Signage Magazine’s Best of Show award; Commercial Integrator’s Best Outdoor Display in the 2017 BEST Awards program; and Most Innovative Mounting Solution by Systems Contractor News in its Installation Product Awards program.   • CEDIA 
    • Keeping on with our Daytona 500 theme, Peerless-AV featured giveaways and a Bloody Mary bar at our booth, while also showing the following products: all-season outdoor TVs, UltraView™ UHD Outdoor TV, Xtreme™ Outdoor Soundbar, and PeerAir™ Wireless HD Multimedia System.     • New for this year, Peerless-AV was also pleased to sponsor the Queen of Hearts Benefit Concert, featuring Credence Forever to benefit GenerateHope, an organization offering support to sex trafficking survivors and work to eradicate the sex trade.


  • Daytona 500
    • This was an exciting one for the team! As the official outdoor display provider of the Daytona International Speedway® members of the team had front row seats to the PowerShares QQQ 300, from Pit Road Patio. The race was thrilling, with plenty of crashes, and everyone was excited to see Kurt Busch pull off a win! After the race, we went back to Camp Peerless-AV for dinner and bonding.

Initiatives & Partnerships

In addition to launching new products, 2017 was a great year for new initiatives and partnerships for Peerless-AV:

  • Certified Manufacturer Installation Training Program for System Integrators and Installers
    • Launched in January, this four-level program was designed to provide InfoComm and CEDIA-certified industry education and Peerless-AV specific training to system integrators and installers. Trainings were offered throughout the year both in-person and as webinars, and focused on topics such as the importance of proper installation techniques and safety and efficient methods to reduce the risk of faulty installations.
  • Creston Certified Integrated Partner (CIP) Program – named a partner for our UltraView™ UHD Outdoor TV and Xtreme™ Outdoor Display
    • Crestron partners with the world’s leading manufacturers to provide top tier automation control systems. As a Crestron Integrated Partner, Peerless-AV’s solutions now offer a seamless integration of Crestron residential and commercial automation, offering consumers a superior user experience.



And of course, none of the above would be possible without the people of Peerless-AV. In 2017, we were pleased to introduce new faces and appointments, including:

  • New Director of Marketing Communications, Stephanie Frey
    • In this role, Frey will lead and direct the global Marketing Communications team. She will be responsible for determining and implementing the optimal mix for advertising, digital marketing, public relations, tradeshows, social media, and other communications programs. Frey will also be working closely with a team of professional managers, project managers, and designers to position and build product and overall Peerless-AV brand awareness
  • Brian McClimans elected to Executive Board of Digital Signage Federation
    • Since 2013, McClimans has served on the Board of Directors for the Digital Signage Federation, and currently heads up the Outreach and Advocacy Committee. In his new position, McClimans will serve as Treasurer.
