When Illinois’ Cicero School District 99 had the opportunity to build a new elementary school, they wanted to create a space that would motivate and stimulate the district’s students. Peerless-AV, LG Business Solutions, and Snap Install collaborated together to successfully create a flexible learning environment for the students by implementing state-of-the-art technology solutions throughout the facility.
With only three weeks to design, test, manufacture, and perform the challenging installs for the new Sherlock Elementary School, Peerless-AV, LG, and Snap Install were able to meet the aggressive deadline and welcome students in time for the start of the school year.
As students and teachers enter the main lobby of Sherlock Elementary School, they are greeted with a unique digital display experience featuring 34 curved LG Open Frame OLED displays (model 55EF5E-L) – 24 units on the ceiling and 10 units in two columns on the wall, supported by Peerless-AV’s dedicated mounting solutions. The fourth floor includes two video walls, each composed of eight 55-inch LG Narrow Bezel displays (model 55VH7E-A) and eight Peerless-AV SmartMount® Supreme Full Service Video Wall Mounts with Quick Release (DS-VW775-QR).
According to Cao Mac, Cicero School District 99’s Chief Information Officer, the digital displays have successfully invigorated students and aided in encouraging advanced ways of learning.
“Technology changes drastically, but if we don’t expose our kids to these types of environments, they’ll never be able to succeed in the future,” said Mac. “Having the people who understood our vision, who understood our goal and our mission of what we’re trying to accomplish, and having them truly buy into what we’re trying to accomplish really set the tone for the whole entire process.”
With a shared goal of expanding education, the installation was as rewarding for Snap Install, LG Business Solutions, and Peerless-AV as it was for the school and students.
